Food Bank:

The Food Bank offers emergency food and other necessities,  when available,  every thirty days. We are open each week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 12 Noon.

 

Clothing/Furniture Assistance:

Emergency clothing and furniture assistance is available to consumers who have experienced a fire, emergency evacuation, or other crises causing a loss of belongings.

 

Summer Camp :

Every child should have the opportunity to experience summer camp. Salvation Army camps provide a reprieve from the daily worries of everyday life. Our campers eat nutritious meals, engage in fun activities such as swimming and crafts, and participate in team-building exercises that develop their self-esteem and social skills.

 

Christmas Assistance:

The Christmas Food Hamper Program offers a gift of food for people in need at Christmas. The hamper includes non-perishable food items as well as a small gift voucher to a local supermarket. The voucher is intended to assist the recipient to purchase a turkey or other meat products.  Registration is held in November and hampers are distributed the week before Christmas. Gifts are provided for  children.

 

RED CAP:

RED CAP is an emotions management program geared to 6 to 10 year olds which runs over an 8-week period throughout local schools during the school year.

The program is interactive and facilitated by staff and volunteers that are trained and police checked. RED CAP provides an incredible opportunity offering communities a program which allows their youth to become educated on self emotion-management.

 

 

Anger Management: 

Anger Management is a service where clients are offered strategies and techniques to manage excessive anger and make better life choices. Most of this service is done in a group setting however a one-on-one basis may be available.  

 

 

Niagara Mobile Outreach: 

Street Outreach Truck provides meals, support and connections to community supports for those who are homeless living on the streets and other high risk individuals in need. Please check out the blog at Niagara Mobile Outreach  for more information and scheduled stops.

 

Emergency Disaster Services:

As one of Canada's major emergency relief organizations, The Salvation Army is, many a time, assigned specific roles by Emergency Preparedness authorities. Emotional and spiritual support, registration and inquiry, shelter, transportation, emergency housing, feeding or clothing are some of the services that may be provided both in the response and recovery phase.

 

Volunteer Program:

Volunteer opportunities are available for men and women seeking to assist in their community.  Some of the programs that utilize volunteers are Food Bank, Mobile Outreach, Red Cap, Christmas Kettles and the Christmas Hamper preparation.  Some opportunities may require a criminal reference check.
